How It Works

Divearoo's Marine Life Heatmaps combine data from diver logs, citizen scientists, marine biologists, and sightings reported to OBIS to reveal meaningful patterns in marine life distribution. All data is approximated, aggregated, and delayed by three months to ensure there's no real-time risk to marine life.

As a diver, you can log your dives and report sightings. Your contributions are added to the shared dataset, helping the entire community learn more about where and when species are encountered. We're also working to responsibly share this data with conservation partners, so every sighting you log supports broader research and protection efforts.

You can search for over 30,000 marine species by common name to explore trends, spot regional patterns, and plan future dive trips. Whether you're a curious learner, an underwater photographer, or planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip, heatmaps turn collective knowledge into a powerful tool for education, exploration, and conservation.
