How to contribute:

• Contact support@divearoo.com to see what dive sites are available to map and if you qualify to map them.
• Use your experience and knowledge of the dive site to hand draw the site map. For additional support, you can refer to publicly available, non-copyrighted sources.
• Verify key details such as:
• Entrance and exit points as well as recommended route
• Representation of shore (if applicable)
• Compass bearings
• Depth: minimum and maximum
• Location coordinates
• Photograph your map via mobile and upload on Divearoo mapping form.

Remember that the purpose of the map is to offer divers a visual representation of the underwater environment to help with navigation. It is not intended to serve as a scientific map with exact depth measurements or accurate topographical scaling.

Other dive site data to include:

• Type of dive: reef, wreck, wall, drift, etc.
• Skill level: novice, advanced, or experienced
• Topography: description of the site's topography and key features. Include if there are any overhead environments, notable tight spaces, restrictions, or hazards.
• Currents: presence of strong surface, downward or tidal currents
• Marine life: types of marine life expected to be encountered
• Conservation guidelines or local diving practices of note
• Brief history: include any origin stories or anecdotes that are distinct to site
