Thresher Shark Point
Fuvahmulah
Dive Site Photos
Summary
Thresher Shark Point is a boat-access reef dive off Fuvahmulah centered on a natural cleaning station where oceanic thresher sharks regularly visit and manta rays sometimes appear. Divers descend along a sloping coral ledge, plateau, or small pinnacles that drop into the deep blue; the site is well known among shark-focused dive operators.
The dive is typically run as a dawn drift from a small boat with no shore entry; divers descend at the anchor and drift along the reef. Depths are roughly 15-30 m, with dives commonly reaching around 30-35 m near the drop-off. Visibility is generally very good (often 30 m or more) and water temperatures are in the high 20s °C. Strong currents and occasional surge are common, so advanced certification and careful conduct around large wild sharks are recommended.
