Temple Point

Menjangan Island

Dive Site Photos

Summary

Temple Point is a popular wall and drift dive on the northeastern tip of Menjangan Island. The dive begins near the base of a coastal cliff marked by a large Hindu Ganesh statue; a steep reef wall drops from about 3–5 m at the top to roughly 30–40 m and is covered in hard corals, sea fans and sponges, producing a spectacular, colourful vertical reef. Dives are conducted from boat with a guide into open ocean conditions; divers follow a slow drift along the wall and then ascend through shallower coral gardens. Visibility is often 20–30 m, currents are usually mild but can pick up at times, and water temperature is around 27–29 °C year round.
