Tankah Ii

Tulum

Dive Site Photos

Summary

Tankah II is a deep coral-reef dive with a steep coral terrace, canyon-like channels, large coral heads, sponges and wire corals rising from a sandy bottom. The reef supports abundant marine life, notably rays, turtles and reef sharks, and is a popular advanced reef dive. Typically done from a boat with a back-roll or giant-stride entry, divers descend along the deep reef slope to about 38 m with shallower ledges near 22 m. Visibility is generally very good (around 30 m) and the water is warm year-round. Currents can vary seasonally but no unusually strong currents or other hazards are noted; there are no overhead environments, and the depth makes this site suitable only for advanced divers with proper deep-diving experience and air-supply management.
