Shark Arena

Summary
Shark Arena, a shallow boat-access site off Nassau, is centered on a flat sandy patch used for supervised shark-feeding encounters. The main attraction is the large number of Caribbean reef sharks that gather for the feed; nurse sharks and sizeable groupers commonly join. Divers kneel in a semicircle on the bottom while a professional feeder releases bait, and no physical contact with sharks is allowed.
The dive is shallow, typically about 30–40 feet, with excellent visibility often in the 80–100 foot range and water temperatures around 75–85°F. Entry and exit are by boat only; participants remain mostly stationary, kneeling on the sand with limbs tucked and are advised to wear a full wetsuit for comfort. Currents are minimal and conditions are controlled by professional guides using a polite-feeding technique; briefings emphasize keeping arms and legs still because sharks may bump or fin divers during the feeding. The site is suitable for Open Water–certified or beginner-level divers.
