Dive Site Photos
Summary
Seven Mile Reef is a coral reef with complex topography, featuring a steep northern wall that drops to about 20-24 m, a sunken amphitheatre and large sandstone boulders known as the Mushroom Rocks at the southern end. Hard and soft corals, overhangs and ledges provide extensive habitat, and the site is noted for dense schools of reef fish and varied reef fauna, making it a popular, photographer-friendly dive.
Diving is by boat entry at high tide from Jesser’s Point and typically done as a north-to-south drift along the reef. Depths generally range from about 16 m to 24-25 m, with most dives between 16-20 m; currents commonly run north-to-south and visibility is generally good in calm conditions. Water temperatures range roughly from 20 °C in winter to 28 °C in summer. Strong currents and the deeper profile make the site suitable for advanced divers and require careful attention to air supply and buoyancy.
