Santa Rosa Wall

Dive Site Photos
Summary
Santa Rosa Wall is a classic Cozumel wall dive located southwest of Cozumel Island within Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park. Divers descend a steep coral drop-off with numerous overhangs, tunnels and swim-throughs that connect the wall to a sandy plateau; the reef features large coral heads, sponges, sea fans and rocky outcrops up to 10-12 m tall, providing rich reef life along the wall.
The wall begins around 15-20 m and typical dives are conducted between about 20-30 m, with maximum depths well beyond recreational limits. Water is clear with visibility often exceeding 30 m and temperatures typically about 26-29 °C, so a 3-5 mm wetsuit is comfortable year-round. Access is by dive boat only, usually with drops on the western reef plateau; currents are commonly moderate to strong and the site is typically done as a drift dive, with divers moving with the current from the deeper wall toward shallower areas, using overhangs and swim-throughs as sheltered rest stops and making safety stops at shallower coral bommies. Notable considerations include the possibility of strong or unpredictable currents and heavy diver traffic, so adequate experience and drift-diving skills are recommended.
