Sabalos

Dive Site Photos
Summary
Sabalos is a boat-access reef dive featuring interconnected reef ridges, finger-like coral formations, ledges, small overhangs, a minor wall and horseshoe-shaped bays with small caverns and swim-throughs. Hard and soft corals cover much of the reef, creating habitats for diverse reef fish and macro-invertebrates; occasional large tarpon and barracuda are notable visitors.
The reef ranges from about 6 meters to roughly 14-15 meters, and dives are typically conducted as a drift dive: descend to around 10 meters, follow the reef ridge and let the current carry the group northward. Visibility is usually good, often 15-30 meters, water temperatures are warm in the mid to high 20s °C, and typical bottom times are 45-60 minutes (air-limited). Access is by boat only (a short ride from the marina); moderate currents are common, stronger in the deeper northward sections, so staying with the group and following the guide is advised. The site is not usually used for basic open-water training but is suitable for certified divers with drift experience, and instructors may supervise training here.
