Dive Site Photos
Summary
Palong Wall is a steep coral reef wall with a broad rocky shallow ledge and a gently sloping reef covered in hard corals, gorgonian sea fans, soft corals and sponges. Marine life is abundant, and frequent encounters with blacktip reef sharks and hawksbill turtles are a major attraction.
The site is boat-access only. Maximum depth is about 18-20 m with most diving between 5-15 m and a shallow ledge at 3-5 m. Visibility is typically 10-20 m and water is warm (tropical) year-round. Currents are generally mild and often flow northward. A typical dive profile is to descend along the deeper reef slope from sandy bottom areas (around 15-18 m) then follow the wall upward toward the shallow shelf (about 5-8 m); there are no overhead ceilings and conditions are generally relaxed and suitable for open-water certified divers and beginners.
