Nudi Rock
Raja Ampat
Dive Site Photos
Summary
Nudi Rock is centered on a small limestone pinnacle off Batbitieru Island in Misool, Raja Ampat. The pinnacle emerges above water and continues beneath as a coral-studded formation with steep walls, sloping reef sections, hard corals, carpets of pink anemones and soft coral gardens. Large schools of fish and abundant macro life are common, with frequent sea turtles, schooling great barracuda, hunting giant trevally, patrolling grey reef sharks, and occasional oceanic manta rays at cleaning stations.
Dives start shallow near the top of the pinnacles and descend through coral terraces to about 28 meters. Visibility is generally good, often 10 to 15 meters, and the water is warm. Entry is by boat and many dives are conducted as drift dives because currents can be moderate to strong; divers should be prepared for potential currents and use safe drift diving techniques. The site is best suited to experienced divers.
