Nudi Falls

Lembeh Strait

Dive Site Photos

Summary

Nudi Falls is a renowned muck- and macro-diving site featuring a steep limestone wall that drops to a rubble and sand slope leading into a soft coral garden. The site is named for its abundance of nudibranchs and offers a high diversity of small cryptic critters across mixed habitats, from hydroid- and soft coral-covered wall sections to sandy slopes with large soft corals and gorgonian fans. Dives typically begin in only a few metres and descend gradually to a maximum around 20-25 metres. Water is warm (mid to high 20s °C) and visibility is moderate (often 10 metres or less). There can be tidal currents in the strait, so the site is usually dived on slack tide; entry is by boat with a short ride from nearby dive resorts. Divers should have good buoyancy control over the sandy bottom, watch depth and stay with their guide because the terrain can be uneven and visibility can drop suddenly. There are no overhead or penetration hazards.
