Nelivaru Haa
Baa Atoll
Dive Site Photos
Summary
Nelivaru Haa is an underwater coral pinnacle in Baa Atoll, consisting of a large oval coral formation rising from a sandy bottom with multiple canyons, overhangs and natural swim-throughs. The reef is densely covered with hard and soft corals and supports abundant marine life; large stingrays and groupers are often seen in deeper overhangs, and during the manta season (roughly May–November) the site functions as a cleaning station for reef manta rays, allowing close-range observations.
Dives are conducted from boats with entry and exit by dinghy or dhoni. The reef begins at about 14 m and slopes down to around 30 m, with a typical maximum depth of about 30 m; divers generally descend along the reef slope. The site is recommended for intermediate to advanced divers due to its depth range and open-ocean conditions, and divers should manage depth carefully.
