Summary

Manta Point is a gently sloping coral reef with vibrant hard and soft corals, including branching staghorn and table formations and numerous bommies. It is named for seasonal reef manta ray visits and is also known for frequent sightings of white-tip and black-tip reef sharks; the abundant reef life makes the site engaging even when mantas are not present. The site is boat-access only with drop-off and pickup. Depths range from about 10 m on the reef flats to roughly 20 m or more at the deeper edges. Currents are usually weak, though dives are often conducted as drift dives; visibility typically ranges from 10 to 30 m and water temperatures are in the high 20s °C. A typical dive follows the reef slope, beginning in shallower coral gardens, descending over bommies and ledges, then looping back up toward the boat pickup.
