Dive Site Photos
Summary
Magnifica is a classic coral reef wall dive with a steep drop-off from a shallow stony plateau down to about 80 m. The wall and ridges are covered in healthy reef growth including large table corals, soft corals, sea fans and sponges, and the site is known for abundant marine life: large schools of snapper and skipjack tuna in the blue, predators such as great barracuda and cornetfish, reef fish like sweetlips and anthias, frequent sightings of cuttlefish and turtles, and numerous small reef invertebrates.
The dive starts from a boat mooring on the reef plateau and is often done as a drift along the steep slope and wall. Visibility is typically very good (often 20-50 m) and water temperature is warm year-round (around 26-30 °C). Currents are generally mild but can carry divers slowly along the reef. The slope extends well below recreational limits to about 80 m, so lower sections should be attempted only by advanced or technical divers; divers on air should monitor depth and dive time and remain within no-decompression limits. Entry is by boat using the fixed mooring and standard marine-park reef-conservation practices apply.
