Los Morros
Cabo Pulmo
Dive Site Photos
Summary
Los Morros is a coral reef extension of the main Cabo Pulmo reef just north of El Bajo, composed of discontinuous rocky coral bars and sandy channels stretching roughly 400–500 m and reaching about 16 m depth. The site features large coral heads, boulder formations, cracks and caverns and is noted for garden eels and abundant hiding places that attract many fish, making it a popular choice for advanced divers.
Access is by boat with a backroll entry. Expect medium to strong currents that often turn the dive into a drift with navigational challenges; end-of-dive navigation can sometimes crossover back to El Bajo when currents allow. Summer conditions commonly bring 15–30 m visibility and temperatures around 32 °C, while winter can see temperatures near 15 °C and visibility in the single digits. Hazards include frequent strong currents and potential for low winter visibility, so the site is recommended for experienced divers.
