Summary

A sheltered shore-entry reef with a gently sloping sandy entry that leads into a coral wall and garden, the site features large coral pinnacles (bommies), fan corals, towering pinnacles and an underwater buoyancy training area with artificial statues near the shallow sand. Popular and frequently dived, typical routes follow the reef wall into a saddle crowned by fan coral and pass by dramatic pinnacles. Divers frequently see green sea turtles, moray eels, Napoleon wrasse and spotted eagle rays around the reef. Entry and exit are from a sandy beach and the site sits inside Masbat Bay, so conditions are usually calm and protected from wind and surge. Descents of 25-30 m are common, with deeper drop-offs to roughly 40-60 m or more used for advanced training; freediving lines are set from shore to about 20, 35 and 40 m. Visibility is generally very good, often 25-30 m or more, and water temperatures range from about 20 °C in winter to the high 20s °C in summer. No strong currents or special hazards are typical, though freediving activities may be present.
