Dive Site Photos
Summary
Kuredu Caves is an underwater reef featuring a network of coral-encrusted caves and overhangs notable for its resident green sea turtle population, with roughly 45 turtles using ledges and caverns to rest; the ceilings are covered in soft corals that act as cleaning stations and the site’s vaulted topography creates an engaging drift-and-explore experience.
Typical dives follow the reef edge through the series of caves and ledges. The reef drops to about 25-30 metres at its deepest point, with much of the site between about 8 m and 20 m deep. Conditions are generally clear, warm and sheltered with visibility often 20-30 metres, water temperatures around 28-30 °C year-round, and typically mild currents. The site is normally accessed by dive boat from Kuredu Resort or nearby islands, and the shallower reef above the caves is also suitable for snorkeling; overall it is accessible to recreational open-water certified divers.
