Dive Site Photos
Summary
Kuda Rah Thila is a small underwater coral pinnacle noted for dense soft-coral coverage, bright sea fans, large overhangs, caverns and a coral-plastered archway/swim-through. The complex topography frames abundant reef life, with frequent sightings of large schools of blue-striped snappers and fusiliers, reef fish such as batfish, bannerfish, morays and jacks, plus regular encounters with green sea turtles, Napoleon wrasse and occasional reef sharks and stingrays. The site lies within a declared Marine Protected Area and is a popular, frequently dived pinnacle.
Dives are boat entry only. The formation rises from about 14–17 meters and descends to roughly 30 meters, making the profile suitable for Advanced Open Water and experienced divers. Visibility often reaches 20–30 meters and water temperatures are typically about 27 to 30 °C. Currents can be moderate to strong because of the channel location, so divers commonly descend on the sheltered side and drift along with the flow; mooring buoys are used to avoid reef damage. Guides recommend group diving, conservative planning and many advise nitrox because of depth and current considerations.
