Summary
Jackfish Alley features a sheer coral wall with multiple large swim-through caves leading down to a broad sandy plateau and coral garden, plus a wide sandy channel between the main reef and an offshore reef that is frequently visited by schools of trevally and rays. The reef and pinnacles are densely covered with hard and soft corals, gorgonians, and sponges supporting abundant reef fish.
Dives are boat entries and are typically drift dives, with divers carried along the reef slope toward the southern end. Depths range from about 5-6 m on the plateau to 18-20 m in the sandy alley, with outer drop-offs reaching 25-30 m. Visibility is usually very good, often exceeding 20 m, and water temperature is generally 22-26 °C. Moderate to strong currents can occur, especially near pinnacles; cave penetration should be attempted only by experienced divers with lights in small guided groups. Diving is conducted under marine park regulations; permits are required and contact with the reef is prohibited.
