Italian Gardens

Italian Gardens is a deep offshore boulder-strewn reef with kelp-covered outcrops and sandy patches. The site is popular and noted for abundant marine life, notably giant sea bass and many California spiny lobsters. Access is by boat only; typical dives reach about 130 feet, making it among the deeper recreational sites in the area. The seafloor features large boulders, ledges and sandy channels to explore, and visibility is generally 30 to 100 feet.
