Dive Site Photos
Summary
Hin Kong is a coral reef characterized by a prominent formation of giant granite boulders that rise near the surface and form a pinnacle with steep walls and ledges. The boulders and reef are covered with coral, sponges and sea fans, creating crevices where divers commonly find redtooth triggerfish and spiny lobsters.
The reef slopes from shallow peaks around 5-10 m down to about 30 m at the base, with much of the site suitable for Open Water certification to about 18 m and deeper sections to 30 m requiring Advanced certification. Visibility is generally good, often 10-30 m, and currents are usually weak or negligible. Access is by boat only; there is no shore entry. Water temperatures in the peak season (roughly December to April) are typically in the mid-20s °C.
