Summary

Gabr El Bint is a remote offshore reef noted for dramatic underwater topography and healthy coral communities, featuring a steep wall plunging to about 60 m and a shallower coral plateau with extensive gorgonian fan gardens. The reef lies within the Nabq Protected Area of South Sinai and is widely regarded as one of the most attractive and frequently visited dive sites around Dahab. Typical dives range from a few meters on the reef top to about 60 m on the wall, with most exploring 20–30 m. Water is warm, usually mid-20s °C, and visibility is very good, often 20–30 m. Access is by boat only; currents are commonly moderate to strong so drift diving is frequent. Because of the depth and currents the site is recommended for experienced (advanced) divers; plan air supply and safety stops carefully. Strong currents and deep water are the main hazards.
