Blue Corner

Nusa Penida

Dive Site Photos

Summary

Blue Corner is a steep coral reef drop-off featuring vertical walls and canyons that create a corner-like formation favored by pelagic species. Clear but unusually cool water and dense hard-coral cover provide dramatic scenery, and occasional sightings of large pelagics such as white-spotted eagle rays, manta rays and mola mola are a main attraction. Dives are conducted from a boat with a drift along the reef wall toward a wide plateau at about 15–25 m depth. Currents are very strong and unpredictable, so divers typically descend quickly to the current zone, use sheltered indentations to ride the drift, and regroup on sheltered spots or a sandy plateau; visibility is generally clear. The site is recommended only for advanced, experienced divers.
