Bat Cave

Dive Site Photos

Summary

An offshore cavern and wall dive centered on a narrow cave mouth at about 18 m that opens into a large skylit cavern and a steep reef wall descending to roughly 30-35 m. The cavern and wall are richly covered with corals, sponges, anemones and giant clams, creating dramatic topography and abundant marine life. Divers frequently encounter schools of jacks and fusiliers, occasional barracuda, blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, and green sea turtles. Access is typically by boat with entry near the cave entrance; a common route is to drift along the steep reef wall sloping down from the cavern. Visibility is often 10-25 m and water temperatures are around 26-29 °C. Currents are usually mild, allowing a gentle drift. The cave entrance at about 18 m and the deeper drop to 30-35 m, plus the shallow-overhead cavern environment, make the site best suited to Advanced Open Water divers. The site lies within a protected marine park and standard no-take/no-damage regulations apply.
