Summary
Addu Manta Point is a boat-access drift dive centered on a coral bommie that functions as a manta cleaning station. Reef manta rays congregate at this cleaning outcrop and are the site's main attraction.
Divers enter from a boat and descend to about 16 m, following the reef as they drift through the channel; the cleaning outcrop sits around 20-21 m and the dive can reach about 25 m or more. Early-morning incoming currents bring plankton and often produce stronger flow, so guides commonly use reef hooks to hold position. Water temperatures are about 26-29°C year-round and visibility is generally excellent, often exceeding 20-30 m on good days. The dive is conducted as a drift with an open-water safety stop while drifting back to the boat; current is the main environmental factor and requires good buoyancy control and attention to the reef hook to avoid drifting away.
